- Birth is registered with Mansfield in the quarter July Aug Sept 1876 vol 7b Page 74 (send for cert 18 4 05 )Certificate to hand 22nd April 2005 Details birth 27 th April 1876 father is William Adlington coal miner mother Mary Burton registered 13th July by mother address Hucknall
In 1881 Mary Emma is living with her mother and two brothers at Mill Lane Hucknall Huthwaite She is age 4
The 1901 Census return show Mary Emma living at home with her parents,and now age 24, married and her husband Andrew Weston age 29 coalminer is also sharing the same roof
Sister Annie is also at home age 15 employment not defined although it is known that she was employed as a servant at this time
Mary Emma died of double mastoid in 1902 leaving her parents to raise her daughter Annie I have no further trace of her husband Andrew Weston at this point (Andrew remarried on Nov 8th 1905)
In Sept 2006 some letters came to light saved by her sister Annie Elizabeth These were written by Mary Emma in 1901 and 1902 She styles herself as Meg and is delighted by the arrival of her new baby the most wonderful baby in all the world
