    Hatton of Ardoyne House
    Hatton of Ardoyne House
This is the house at Hatton of Ardoyne near Oyne as described in the auction sale catalogue I somehow expected a property older in appearance and suspect that this must have been a replacement at some point As you head out of Oyne crossing the railway line towards Old Rayne you come to a junction with the main highway and at this point a small road immediately on the left winds it way back in the direction you came passing the Hatton properties to exit on the Oyne to Insch road close to the toll bridge

The photograph is supplied by the National Museum of Scotland( Edinburgh EH1 1JF) and is from negative no 51/56/13A It is believed to be of Leslie Jaffray on the occasion of his golden wedding 20th June 1890 The registers show that the date of death and age for Jean Smith are incorrectly shown on her headstone She in fact died a year earlier This casts a doubt on the "Golden wedding" photograph.
